My version of the ‘Aquaglobe’

Well, I’m a sucker for infomercials and I think the aquaglobe looks like a great product. It makes sense, but I don’t know if I want to pay money for it. SO – I decided to make my own aquaglobe! I’m using a Dawn Foam dish soap bottle, a mini play-doh container and the tube part of an old pen.
First, clean the parts you’ll use – I use Goo Gone to get the stickers off stuff – it’s awesome.
Then there is a small circle on the bottom of the playdoh container. I used an exacto knife to cut it out and the pen actually screwed into the hole I cut. The tighter the fit the better – it’s going to have to be air/water tight!
Then you’ll need caulk – Apply around the pen on the inside and outside of the playdoh container. Then apply to the bottom inside curve of the playdoh container and to the bottom outside of the dawn bottle. Apply liberally – it has to be air/water tight!
Fill with water and place in plant. Push into the soil until the playdoh container is touching the soil. I’ll let you know how it works! I’m putting mine into my plant today!
