Bandana Quilt

I finally finished my nephew’s quilt! He was supposed to get it when he was born, but I finished it in time for his 1st birthday. Not bad, considering I have 2 kids! I just sewed 6 bandanas together, hand quilted his name thru the batting (not thru the back since I didn’t want his name to be backward), then appliqued the stars thru the batting and backed it with a twin sheet cut to size. I put buttons thru to hold the back on, but wish I’d quilted the squares on the bandanas thru the back since the batting balled up in the corners when I washed it! Doh! You live, you learn. Here’s how it turned out!
Elmo Cake!

My daughter had her birthday party with her cousin this weekend. She turned 2 and he turned 1. It was such a good time! My SIL and I made the kids cakes. I took the Wilton cake class at Hobby Lobby (for 15$ – and I only went to the first 2 classes, but I learned 15$ worth for sure) so I used my knowledge and supplies from that to make it. Lacee is just really talented…she’s an artist. She made a blue cake with clouds and an airplane on top. I made an Elmo cake. I only have a picture of mine, but I’ll post hers on here later if she wants to. Ta Da!
